Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support primary and preventative healthcare in our Farmington Hills outpatient clinic. You will assist physicians, manage patient flow, and cover front-office tasks as needed.

This role emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration with clinic staff, and flexibility to cover multiple departments. A competency-based MA program and relevant certifications are required or in progress, with 20 hours per week scheduled in the day shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a competency-based accredited Medical Assistant program with clinical rotation or equivalent experience is required.
• 1 year MA experience is preferred; options include CH MA internship (6 months) or CH MA apprenticeship.
• BLS CPR certification required within 30 days from hire (AHA/ARC acceptable).
• Certification eligibility or current certification for CMA, RMA, ARMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, NRCMA, or NCCT/NHA variants within 90 days.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Michigan upon hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Acts as an assistant to the physician/provider and supports patient care management.
• Collaborates with clerical staff to optimize operations and patient flow.
• Interacts with outside healthcare facilities and agencies regarding patient care and insurance.
• Maintains updated competencies and communicates with leadership and accrediting bodies about processes.
• Performs front office duties and may provide coverage in other departments or locations as needed.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service and supports patient- and family-centered care.
