Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant III for its outpatient clinics in the Grosse Pointe area. The role focuses on primary and preventive care support, with responsibilities spanning patient flow, front office duties, and collaboration with clinicians to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Education and certification requirements are specified for MA roles.
• Desirable certifications must be obtained within stated timeframes.
• Experience in clinical settings is preferred but not required beyond stated criteria.

Responsibilities

• Acts as an assistant to physician/provider delivering primary care and patient care management.
• Collaborates with clerical staff to optimize operations and patient flow.
• Interacts with outside facilities and agencies regarding patient care and insurance.
• Maintains competencies and communicates with leadership about processes.
• Performs front office duties and provides coverage as needed.
• Provides cross-department coverage as needed and supports patient-centered care.
• Supports advanced provider tasks and may assist with infusion or scheduling.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Competency-based accredited MA program

MA internship / apprenticeship

1 year MA experience or CH MA internship + 6 months MA experience

BLS certification (AHA/ARC) within 30-90 days

CMA/RMA/ARMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA certification within 90 days

LPN license (MI) upon hire
