Job summary

TSI Incorporated is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Technician II to join its pilot manufacturing environment in Shoreview, MN. You will troubleshoot complex mechanical and electronics assemblies, work with Product Development Engineering, and help transfer new products to production.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of technician experience.
• Electronic Technology AA degree or Certificate preferred with 3+ years relevant experience.
• In lieu of AA/Certificate, 2–3 years of electrical or computer engineering coursework with 3+ years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and document complex mechanical and electrical assemblies.
• Collaborate with product development engineering on performance issues during validation and pilot efforts.
• Develop calibration, service, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to other technical personnel.
• Analyze errors in electronic design and production.
• Suggest corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.

Advanced Manufacturing Technician II at TSI
The Advanced Manufacturing Technician II position is the mid-level for the technician group. They must possess all the experience and core competencies required of a Manufacturing Technician I plus additional experience. This position will be working in a pilot manufacturing environment troubleshooting new development projects with complex mechanical and electronic assemblies. This position is responsible for interfacing with Product Development Engineering and Manufacturing Assembly to assist in transferring new products to a production setting.

What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:

• Learns, documents, and troubleshoots complex mechanical and electrical assemblies used in TSI equipment to the component level.
• Communicates with product development engineering on product performance and functionality issues during validation and pilot efforts.
• Develops calibration, service, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Provides technical assistance and guidance to other technical personnel.
• Analyze errors in electronic design and production.
• Provides advice and feedback on corrective actions.
• Continually improve the setup, calibration and test procedures used on the new and service equipment orders.
• Provide training on new product build and service assemblers throughout the plant.
• Assist the technical support group with our customers’ needs for technical support.
• Editing and querying Microsoft Database.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Complete other assignments and special projects as requested.

What Do You Need?

Required

• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years relevant Technician experience required
• Electronic Technology AA degree or Certificate preferred with 3+ years relevant experience
• In lieu of Technical AA Degree/Certificate, 2-3 years of electrical or computer engineering coursework as part of a Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 3+ years of relevant experience

• Experience in testing, diagnostics, trouble shooting and repair of PCA circuit boards and complex instrumentation preferred
• Experience trouble shooting and repairing mechanical and electrical devices to the component level a plus
• Experience responding to internal and external customers and developing a better understanding of the business a plus

Desired

• Knowledge of electronic components and their usage in electronic circuits.
• Advanced knowledge of electronic test equipment (i.e. Oscilloscope, VOM and other test equipment).
• Computer skills using Microsoft Office products.

Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $62,400-$64,480 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
