Job summary

Velo3D in Fremont, California is seeking a Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer to own the technical execution, optimization, and continuous improvement of metal AM operations. You will bridge production, post-processing, metrology, and manufacturing engineering to deliver high-quality parts with predictable cycle times.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on metal additive manufacturing or similar production environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
• U.S. Citizenship required for government contract work and security requirements.
• Strong GD&T, inspection methods, and data-driven process improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Own post-build quality evaluations, including visual inspections and parameter reviews.
• Develop and optimize post-processing workflows: furnace cycles, depowdering, wire EDM.
• Serve as technical authority for wire EDM processing and establish process capability.
• Lead furnace/solukon process development and maintain production recipes.
• Define inspection plans and execute 3D scanning workflows for high-value parts.
