Cogitic Corporation seeks an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering Services team in a high-mix, low-volume environment supporting national defense. You will oversee design for manufacturability, additive manufacturing, welding, assembly, and testing, driving continuous improvement and cross-functional support across departments.

Qualificações

Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Engineering Services Manager)

Position Summary

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Engineering Services Manager) is a flexible leader capable of driving critical functions in a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment, supporting a company who plays a vital role in our nations national defense. This position is responsible for hands‑on management of all internal and external engineering functions, including but not limited to: design for manufacturability, additive manufacturing, welding, assembly, and testing. The Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Engineering Services Manager) builds and develops a high‑performing team, drives disciplined problem‑solving, and positions Cogitic to deliver outsized positive results for our customers through expanded engineering capabilities.

The Engineering Services Manager provides cross‑functional engineering support to all departments.

Key Responsibilities

• PERFORMANCE: Continuously improve quality and timeliness of deliverables by establishing and driving Key Performance Indicator metrics while developing the engineering services team
• TECHNOLOGY: Identify, Discuss, and Solve (IDS) issues and bottlenecks through process development, software, and applicable technologies
• ORGANIZATION: Lead and manage the engineering team to improve operational efficiency, expand capabilities, and support company growth, while fostering adaptability and employee satisfaction through change
• Review, comprehend and communicate customer deliverables for complex, technical projects
• Lead and manage day‑to‑day Engineering Services department functions, to include (but not limited to):
• Develop internal drawing packages from customer‑provided documentation
• Develop technical documentation (work instructions, technical information requests, technical justifications) and similar documents
• Interpret and apply 2D and 3D drawings and models
• Perform hands on tasks in manufacturing to support on time shipment and development of processes and procedures
• Perform analysis of manufacturing activities to identify waste and implement continuous improvement
• Assemble complex multi‑component assemblies
• Testing and related inspection of components and assemblies (hydrostatic, thermal shock, flow, acoustic, etc.)
• Coordinate sub‑contracted physical testing activities (destructive and NDT, shock, vibration, underwater explosion, etc.)
• Perform additive manufacturing per customer contract including technical reports
• Develop and maintain manual welding program including qualifications and approve procedures
• Provide leadership, support, and growth strategy for the Additive Manufacturing program
• Support and comply with Cogitic's Quality Management System
• Build, coach, and motivate the Engineering Services team while promoting excellence through feedback, clear expectations, and hands‑on support
• Develop engineering standards (drawing conventions, model standards, documentation standards, etc.) for both Engineering Services team and other departments (as applicable)
• Lead technical projects to support new company initiatives
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. Wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and manufacturing areas as stated by company policy

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering & Technology Management or a related field - required
• Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering & Technology Management or a related field - preferred
• Minimum 3 years of technical project management experience – required
• Minimum 5 years of verifiable leadership, management and technical skills in supervisory roles specific to engineering, manufacturing, and welding - required
• Minimum of 10 years of direct, hands‑on mechanical engineering experience - required
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve technical manufacturing processes - required
• Direct experience managing design or complex development projects - required
• Ability to pass a background check and hold a security clearance - required
• Must be a US citizen
