Job summary

Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings is seeking a facilities technician to maintain hospital properties. You will repair electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems, read blueprints, and complete work orders to ensure continuous operation of equipment and Life Safety systems.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or related field preferred.
• 1 year of working knowledge of mechanical tools, electrical and plumbing systems preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Performs urgent, routine and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Able to locate items on blue prints, shop drawings and sketches; reads and interprets work orders accordingly.
• Performs preventive maintenance inspections on buildings and equipment and minor repairs.
• Diagnoses system malfunctions and replaces defective parts as needed.
• In winter, remove snow and spread salt to prevent ice buildup.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and materials as needed.
• Coordinates efforts and schedules work assignments for Mary Lanning Healthcare properties.
• Works with department coworkers and has contact with customers or patients.
• Attends meetings and participates in quality improvement programs.
