Job summary

Promega is seeking a Maintenance Technician 2 to perform advanced maintenance across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in our biopharmaceutical facilities. The role includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and collaboration with engineers to ensure compliant, reliable operations.

On-call rotation and supervision of contractors are part of duties. The candidate should have 2–5 years of general labor experience, strong technical skills, and familiarity with SAP.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5 years’ general labor experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance management software.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP software preferred.
• Proficient with hand and power tools for maintenance tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to work in a regulated environment and adhere to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing and water purification systems.
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues.
• Assist with installation of new equipment and systems and monitor critical systems reliability.
• Coordinate and oversee work of outside contractors and ensure compliance with policies and safety standards.
• Maintain maintenance logs and documentation in GMP/SOP contexts and use SAP for activity tracking.
• Provide training and mentorship to Maintenance Technicians and staff.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment/building reliability.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and uphold 5S practices.
