Job summary

Intepros is seeking a hands-on Lead Maintenance Technician for a cell and gene therapy facility in the Pittsburgh area. You will lead maintenance on GMP utilities, process equipment and cleanroom infrastructure, ensuring systems run smoothly and stay compliant.

You will mentor technicians, read P&IDs and specs, manage CMMS work orders, and coordinate contractors in controlled areas. The role requires strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and BMS, with GMP documentation duties.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and building management systems.
• Ability to follow SOPs, P&IDs and work instructions precisely.
• Experience leading or mentoring technicians.
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficient with MS Office.
• Able to lift 50 lb and work in varied conditions, including cleanroom gowning.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance on building and utility systems, including HVAC, WFI generation and distribution, clean steam, compressed gases, and plumbing and electrical.
• Maintain and troubleshoot process equipment such as pumps, valves, autoclaves, centrifuges, reactors, biosafety cabinets and isolators.
• Manage preventive maintenance assignments and work orders in the CMMS.
• Document all work to GMP standards, on paper and electronically.
• Read and work from P&IDs, layouts, wiring diagrams and equipment specs.
• Do daily rounds on GMP and non-GMP equipment and respond to BMS alarms.
• Support CAPAs, deviations and change controls.
• Help plan and execute annual shutdowns.
• Escort and coordinate outside contractors and vendors in controlled areas.
• Improve SOPs and maintenance practices.
• Train and mentor less experienced technicians.

What You'll Bring

• Strong written and verbal communication, and comfort with MS Office.

Nice to have

• 6+ years of maintenance experience in a GMP environment (pharma, biotech or medical device).
• A license in electrical, plumbing, refrigeration (EPA 608) or wastewater treatment.
• Experience with Blue Mountain RAM or another CMMS, such as Maximo or SAP PM.
• Experience with Siemens Desigo or another BMS or control system.
