Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 30 months machining experience.
• Fully qualified Level 2 Machine Operator.
• Advanced knowledge of metal/plastic cutting processes and equipment.
• Self-motivated with fast learning and troubleshooting skills.
• Operates machine with loading/unloading parts and inspection tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machining equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform start-stop procedures including startup, loading material, and shutdown.
• Make tooling/fixture changes and adjustments.
• Complete records and forms.
• Inspect parts visually and dimensionally to quality standards.
• Clean chips from tooling and parts.
• Report malfunctions and discrepancies to supervisor.
• Preset tooling as required.
• Set-up parts, process and machine as required.
• Perform daily, semi-annual and annual machine maintenance.
• Identify and correct problems in setup and tooling.
• Suggest process improvements for machining operations.
• Maneuver around machine; standing, bending, and walking.
• Repair/modify equipment if required.
