Job summary

Chenega Professional Services Strategic Business Unit seeks a Firefighter/ALS at Wallops Flight Facility to deliver emergency response, firefighting, and Advanced Life Support services. You will respond to fires, medical emergencies, aircraft incidents, and hazardous materials events while performing rescue, patient care, and incident stabilization under medical direction.

Requirements include high school diploma or GED, DoD/IFSAC or Pro Board firefighter certifications, ALS and BLS, EVOC, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• DoD/IFSAC, Pro Board, or State Firefighter I certification.
• DoD/IFSAC, Pro Board, or State Firefighter II certification.
• ALS certification as per state/local requirements.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• EVOC certification.
• FEMA NIMS IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800.
• Capable of working under stressful and hazardous conditions.
• Must pass medical examinations and fitness assessments.
• Must obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
• Must pass background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire, rescue, medical, hazmat, aircraft emergencies.
• Perform firefighting, rescue, ALS care per policies.
• Deliver ALS care and patient assessment.
• Participate in search and rescue and victim recovery.
• Support aircraft operations and hazardous environments.
• Assess hazards and implement response strategies.
• Operate firefighting tools and equipment.
• Conduct technical rescues including confined spaces and rope rescue.
• Operate in respiratory protection and protective gear.
• Assist with incident documentation and reporting.
• Support fire prevention and safety initiatives.
• Maintain communication with supervisors and agencies.
• Operate department vehicles and support mission operations.
• Other duties as assigned.
