Job summary

Chenega Corporation seeks Firefighter/EMTs to join the emergency response team at Stennis Space Center, MS. This hands-on role focuses on fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical response to protect lives and critical mission operations.

You will operate firefighting and EMS equipment, participate in maintenance, training, and drills, and support safety procedures. Eligible candidates hold NREMT and MS EMT certs or can obtain licensure, with background/drug screenings required.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school diploma or GED, 21+ years old.
• Current NREMT and Mississippi EMT certifications (or ability to obtain MS licensure).
• Firefighter II certification and EVOC certification.
• HazMat Ops, Technical Rescue Awareness, and NIMS ICS 100/200/700/800 certs; ability to pass background and drug screenings.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire, medical, rescue, hazmat, and other emergencies; provide life-saving services.
• Operate firefighting, rescue, and EMS equipment; support suppression, extrication, and BLS transport.
• Maintain readiness via inspections, maintenance, training, drills, and safety compliance.
• Support fire prevention, public safety, documentation, inspections, and ongoing development.
• Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire, medical, rescue, hazardous materials, and other emergency incidents, providing life-saving services and effective emergency response.
• Operate firefighting, rescue, and EMS equipment while supporting fire suppression, vehicle extrication, technical rescue, and Basic Life Support (BLS) transport operations.
• Maintain operational readiness through equipment inspections, apparatus maintenance, training, drills, and compliance with department procedures and safety standards.
• Support fire prevention, public safety, and documentation activities, including inspections, incident reporting, and continuous professional development.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED and at least 21 years of age.
• Current NREMT certification and Mississippi EMT certification (or ability to obtain Mississippi licensure).
• Firefighter II certification (IFSAC, Pro Board, Mississippi State Minimum Standards, or equivalent) and EVOC certification.
• HazMat Operations, Technical Rescue Awareness, and NIMS ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 certifications; ability to pass required background and drug screenings.
• Successfully pass background and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:

• Fire Inspector I certification (or ability to obtain after hire).
• Ability to obtain Technical Rescue Technician and/or HazMat Technician certifications.
