Qualifications

• Must have a valid NREMT certification and Mississippi EMT certification or ability to obtain Mississippi licensure.
• Firefighter II certification and EVOC.
• HazMat Operations and Technical Rescue Awareness; ability to pass background and drug screenings.
• NIMS ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 certifications; strong safety and compliance focus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire, medical, rescue, hazardous materials, and other emergency incidents, providing life-saving services and effective emergency response.
• Operate firefighting, rescue, and EMS equipment while supporting fire suppression, vehicle extrication, technical rescue, and BLS transport operations.
• Maintain readiness through equipment inspections, apparatus maintenance, training, drills, and compliance with procedures and safety standards.
• Support fire prevention, public safety, and documentation activities, including inspections, incident reporting, and ongoing professional development.
• Other duties as assigned

• Respond to fire, medical, rescue, hazardous materials, and other emergency incidents, providing life-saving services and effective emergency response.
• Operate firefighting, rescue, and EMS equipment while supporting fire suppression, vehicle extrication, technical rescue, and Basic Life Support (BLS) transport operations.
• Maintain operational readiness through equipment inspections, apparatus maintenance, training, drills, and compliance with department procedures and safety standards.
• Support fire prevention, public safety, and documentation activities, including inspections, incident reporting, and continuous professional development.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED and at least 21 years of age.
• Current NREMT certification and Mississippi EMT certification (or ability to obtain Mississippi licensure).
• Firefighter II certification (IFSAC, Pro Board, Mississippi State Minimum Standards, or equivalent) and EVOC certification.
• HazMat Operations, Technical Rescue Awareness, and NIMS ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 certifications; ability to pass required background and drug screenings.
• Successfully pass background and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:

• Fire Inspector I certification (or ability to obtain after hire).
• Ability to obtain Technical Rescue Technician and/or HazMat Technician certifications.
