Job summary

City of St Joseph is seeking an Equipment Operator III to operate and maintain equipment at the landfill and transfer station. You will perform a variety of tasks to support sanitary waste disposal and ensure safe operations.

The role requires operating roll-off, flusher, and dump trucks, with inspections and safety compliance as priorities. CDL preferred; drug screening and background check are mandatory."

Qualifications

• Must pass drug screening and criminal background check.
• Experience operating heavy landfill equipment preferred.
• One year of related field experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate roll-off trucks, flusher truck, and dump truck safely throughout the landfill and transfer station property.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned truck and equipment.
• Maintain safe distances from pedestrians, heavy equipment, and other vehicles; report safety concerns immediately.
• Assist with litter control, debris, dust, and general housekeeping around the transfer station and landfill operating areas.
