McGill University invites applications for an in-person Fall 2026 course, EDEC 344 731/761 Advanced Indigenous Language (Cree). This assignment spans two sites (Chisasibi and Waswanipi) with a schedule including mornings and afternoons, and online weeks. Travel, lodging, and per diems are covered as needed.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree and has expert knowledge of Indigenous pedagogy, Quebec curriculum (QEP), and experience with Indigenous communities and curriculum development.

Formación

• Master’s degree required; exceptional experience may be considered.
• Expert knowledge of course content as outlined.
• Knowledge of the Quebec Education program (QEP) and the curriculum of the partnering school board.
• Familiarity with the 13 professional competencies in Ministère de l’Éducation.
• Experience teaching in Quebec elementary schools.
• Experience teaching Indigenous communities.
• Experience developing curriculum grounded in Indigenous knowledge and pedagogies.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver the course in-person in Chisasibi and Waswanipi.
• Coordinate with the partnering school board and McGill.
• Adjust course content to community context.
• Participate in course coordination and planning two weeks before start.
• Demonstrate knowledge and/or experience with Indigenous issues in First Nations and Inuit contexts.
