Job summary

Planet Pharma seeks a Histology technician to support research by performing histological procedures, tissue preparation, sectioning, staining, imaging, and image quantification. You will design experiments, characterize tissue, and present findings.

The ideal candidate has 4–6 years of biotech experience, strong IHC and tissue workflow skills, and can manage complete histology pipelines. You will collaborate with senior staff, manage data, and assist with CRO coordination for outsourcing tissue

Qualifications

• MS in Biology or related field with 4+ years industry drug discovery involvement via IHC.
• Strong experience with tissue sectioning, IHC, and complete histology workflows.
• Experience with microscopy and digital pathology.
• ASCP HT/HTL certification desirable.
• Proficiency with whole-slide image analysis tools and large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Carry out immunohistochemical procedures.
• Prepare tissue including grossing and embedding.
• Section tissue with cryostat, microtome, vibratome or sliding microtome.
• Perform high-volume automated and manual immunostaining.
• Use slide stainers (Leica Bond Rx, IntelliPATH) when possible.
• Capture images with fluorescence and brightfield microscopy.
• Work with whole-slide scanners (Nanozoomer, Axioscan).
• Conduct histological staining (H&E, counterstains).
• Design experiments, analyze data, present findings to team.
• Ensure staining quality with microscopy checks.
