Job summary

Duke Cardiology of Raleigh is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our outpatient Advanced Heart Failure team. The APP provides direct patient care, orders and interprets tests, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team under physician supervision.

The role emphasizes advanced heart failure management, patient education, and leadership in education and quality improvement. Strong clinical skills and NC licensure are required; remote patient encounters are permitted.

Qualifications

• Education: Nurse Practitioners: Master's degree in Nursing or equivalent; Physician Assistants: Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate established cardiovascular/heart failure patients and those needing post-discharge follow-up.
• Develop and implement plans of care with the supervising physician.
• Perform histories, exams, order/interpret tests, and document encounters.
• Coordinate care with the team and educate patients and families.
• Lead in quality improvement, research, and professional development activities.
