Job summary

Duke Cardiology of Raleigh seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for an outpatient Advanced Heart Failure role. The APP provides direct patient care under physician supervision, orders tests, manages medications, and collaborates with the Duke Heart team to develop and execute care plans for HF patients.

The role emphasizes leadership in patient education, clinical practice, education and research, with full-time hours and coverage within a Duke Health network.

Qualifications

• NP/PA credentialing required.
• NC license with NP/PA prescriptive authority.
• Board certification NP or NCCPA PA preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, and DEA credentials required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate established cardiovascular/heart failure patients and follow-up after discharge.
• Develop treatment plans, priorities, and outcomes; assess effectiveness and cost efficiency.
• Perform comprehensive histories, exams, and document encounters with supervising physician.
• Order, review, and interpret labs and diagnostic studies.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and plans.
• Coordinate care with referring providers and obtain outside records.
