Electric Power Systems Technology (EPST) seeks a Field Technician II to perform testing, inspection, and maintenance of substation electrical equipment with increasing independence. You will troubleshoot, support complex field activities, and uphold safety and quality standards.

The role requires working with engineers and senior technicians, traveling as needed, and adhering to PPE and safety policies. A technical degree or military experience plus relevant field exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug screen and background check are required.
• Overtime and travel may be required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Responsabilités

• Adhere to all safety policies and use PPE in substation environments.
• Participate in safety training, meetings and job briefings; identify hazards and mitigate.
• Support a strong safety culture through hazard reporting and safe practices.
• Perform testing of high, medium and low voltage equipment with limited supervision.
• Inspect and maintain breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding, batteries, and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot equipment using schematics and manuals; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Perform routine and corrective maintenance including repair and adjustment of components.
• Execute functional checks and assist commissioning activities to verify readiness.
• Document testing, maintenance and repairs in compliance with requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to complete field activities efficiently and safely.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas to standards.
