Job summary

West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Land Restoration seeks an Environmental Resources Specialist 1 to support water treatment operations and watershed protection in designated counties. The role involves maintaining treatment facilities, learning complex systems, collecting data, and preparing reports while coordinating with state officials and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Preference for residents of Braxton, Nicholas or Webster counties.
• Substitution: 1 year of related experience for every 30 semester hours of training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation and maintenance of water treatment facilities.
• Learn and operate several unique treatment facility systems to meet discharge limits.
• Collect data and prepare statistical and narrative reports.
• Communicate effectively with watershed groups, officials and the public.
• Conduct watershed field inspections to identify pollution sources and impacts.
