Job summary

Plaquemines Parish Government seeks a trained Emergency Medical Technician - Basic to provide rescue and EMS care. You will stand ready to respond to emergency calls around the clock, operate emergency vehicles, assess scenes for safety, coordinate resources, and maintain equipment and documentation.

Requires EMT-B, current LA certification, BLS/CPR/AED, and a valid Class D driver’s license. Responsibilities include staffing the emergency center, ensuring readiness, and complying with civil

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with EMT-B training and National Registry EMT certification.
• Current Louisiana state EMT certification by DH&H; BLS/CPR/AED.
• Must possess and provide certifications and a valid Class D driver’s license with application.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls 24/7 under general supervision.
• Drive and maneuver emergency vehicles; coordinate resources at scenes.
• Perform inventory, stocking, cleaning, documentation, and prepare reports for EMS Manager.
