Job summary

Acadian Ambulance Service seeks an EMT-Intermediate to provide pre-hospital basic and intermediate life support care and transport for patients in Knoxville, TN. The role emphasizes timely patient assessment, adherence to protocols, and safe ambulance operation.

Responsibilities include patient examinations, basic life support, accurate documentation, equipment testing, and coordination with hospital staff. A valid driver’s license and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• EMT-Intermediate certification required per state rules.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current state driver’s license valid for operating large vehicles.
• Ability to read, write and communicate professionally and effectively.
• Knowledge of company protocols, procedures and safety policies.
• Ability to drive large vehicles in normal and adverse conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conducts a careful examination of the patient for signs and symptoms of illness/injury and assists other medical personnel as necessary.
• Administers prompt and efficient basic life support care prior to and during transport.
• Provides careful handling of the patient to and from the ambulance.
• Transports patient safely to the medical facility in the ambulance.
• Transfers patient and care information to receiving personnel at the destination.
