Job description

Job Summary: Geisinger is now offering NEW starting rates for AEMTs. We also offer a $5000 bonus for those who qualify!

Job Duties

1. Responds to requests in assigned work area.
2. Abides by all Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Laws.
3. All personnel must use seatbelts when vehicle is in motion.
4. Provides Basic Life Support level of patient care.
5. Assists with routine vehicle and equipment surveys conducted at the start of shifts and after patient transports; participates in maintaining readiness and in cleaning as required.
6. Participates in the orientation of new hires.
7. Provides preceptorships for new personnel, residents, students, and volunteers.
8. Participates in patient safety improvement programs.
9. Identifies processes that could lead to errors and adverse events.
10. Follows organizational policies and procedures.
11. Participates in patient safety education and reports serious events promptly.

Work Environment & Responsibilities

Work is performed in a clinical environment. Employees must comply with all policies and procedures. Additional competencies may be outlined in departmental orientations.
