Job Description :

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides emergency medical care to sick and injured patients in prehospital and hospital settings. Communicates effectively with all involved personnel and departments. Performs basic and advanced EMS skills, including interventions and medication administration using equipment on EMS vehicles or within an AEMT's scope of practice.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drives emergency vehicles. (20%)
• Assesses the nature and extent of illness or injury; provides advanced life support and transports critically ill and injured patients. Includes airway management, ventilation, oxygenation, cardiovascular support, immobilization, medication administration, IV initiation, and fluid management. (50%)
• Completes documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%)
• Maintains equipment and supplies, including medications, ensuring accountability per standards. (15%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• High school diploma or GED, or 1-3 months related experience/training, or equivalent.
• PA Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT)
• EMSVO certification within 30 days of hire
• Valid Driver's License
• CPR certification – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Clearance

Preferred

• ITLS/PHTLS, ABLS, ASLS certifications
• 1 year prehospital care experience
