Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Echocardiography Technologist to perform comprehensive ultrasound studies for adult and pediatric patients in a hospital setting in Virginia.

You will execute 2D/3D, Doppler, Transesophageal and Stress Echocardiography per physician requests, manage image quality, and prepare preliminary reports for Cardiologist review, while upholding ICAEL accreditation and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• Two-year Allied Health degree in Ultrasound Technology or Cardiovascular Technology, or equivalent.
• Registration or Certification within one year: ARDMS, RDCS, or RCS.

Responsibilities

• Follow Departmental, Hospital and Human Resources Policy & Procedures.
• Perform adult and pediatric echocardiograms including 2D, 3D, Doppler, Transesophageal, and Stress Echocardiogram as requested.
• Utilize independent judgment, with real-time and offline manipulation of Echocardiographic images for capture, display and analysis of echocardiography data.
• Analyze patient medical record to obtain history of symptoms and necessary information for performance of diagnostic procedures.
• Prepare preliminary reports for review and interpretation by Cardiologist, including comparison of previous studies.
• Ensure ICAEL requirements are met and maintained: CMEs, policies and procedures, protocols, etc. are updated annually.
• Contribute to organizing and preparing ICAEL application to maintain an accredited status.
• Process patient billing per established procedure.
• Use common sense and special medical skills with regard to patient age, diagnosis and physical abilities.
• Directly interact with the patient and physician in receipt, review, scanning and reporting of Echocardiograms.
• Promote an environment that focuses on patient safety.

Education
