Job summary

Sunbelt Controls is seeking a Design Engineer to apply technical knowledge to control system design, material selection, and sequence of operation for mid-level projects. You will produce closeout documents and closely interact with the Project Manager to ensure timely completion of each project.

The ideal candidate has 2-5 years in building automation, proficiency with AutoCAD, VISIO, and EDS, and a strong ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a technical field or 2-5 years of related work experience in building automation systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Ability to read construction blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Must be highly organized and capable of working in a fast-paced environment with prioritization for Sunbelt leadership.
• Must possess a valid California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Researches and selects control system peripherals.
• Lead design engineer for control systems drawings and sequences of operations for lower to mid-level projects.
• Reads and interprets construction drawings and ensures design compliance with specs.
• Collaborates with project team to identify additional options (Energy Efficiency, Equipment Interface, Value Engineering).
• Modifies designs to reflect field changes (As-Builts).
• Generates Operation & Maintenance manuals at project close.
• Manages time and costs budgets for assigned tasks as delegated by the Project Manager or Design Engineer.
