Job summary

Layup Parts in Huntington Beach seeks a skilled technician with strong prepreg composites experience to join our C Shift team. You will prepare tooling, lay up parts, cure and demold, ensuring high quality outputs. The role emphasizes problem solving, accuracy, and adherence to process instructions.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in prepregs, familiarity with layup books, and proficiency with calipers and related tools. The position offers an hourly rate and full-time hours Friday–Sunday.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a technician in prepreg composites manufacturing.
• Understanding of best practices for intensifiers/caul plates, adhesive films, core splicing, etc.
• Read and interpret layup books and work from process controlling instructions.
• Proficient with measuring and assembly tools (calipers, scales, tape measures, torque wrenches, hand drills).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain tooling: sand, polish, seal, release, and maintain molds.
• Lay up parts: place plies using templates, dimensions, or projection systems; apply release film, peel ply, breather, thermocouples.
• Bag and cure: build and install vacuum bags, perform leak tests, run cure cycles.
• Demold and finish: remove cured parts, trim, bond assemblies, and prepare bond lines.
• Drive improvements: provide feedback to engineering for process and design enhancements.
• Stay organized: document material usage, cure data, and production activities in internal systems.
