Akron Children's Hospital seeks a Clinical Pharmacist II for the Inpatient Burn & Burn Clinic in Akron, OH. This full-time role provides advanced pharmaceutical care, participates in rounds, and collaborates with physicians and nurses to optimize therapy for high-acuity patients.

The position emphasizes antimicrobial stewardship, anticoagulation management, pharmacokinetic dosing, and policy development while mentoring residents and students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Current License by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy is required; board certification preferred.
• Post Graduate Year 1 Pharmacy Residency (PGY1) or equivalent required; PGY2 preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain insurability per ACH requirements.

Responsabilités

• Participate in daily interdisciplinary rounds and provide evidence-based pharmacotherapy recommendations.
• Promote cost-effective medication use via formulary management and stewardship initiatives.
• Independently manage complex therapies including antimicrobial stewardship and anticoagulation.
• Initiate, modify, and monitor therapy under protocols or prescriptive authority as applicable.
• Precept students and residents and provide feedback on progress.
• Develop and maintain clinical protocols, order sets, and guidance for pharmacy practice.
• Contribute to quality improvement, research, and medication-use evaluation activities.
• Review and dispense medications in accordance with policies and regulations.
