Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist II to lead advanced pharmacotherapy for high-acuity patients. You will participate in rounds, optimize therapy, and collaborate with the care team.

The role includes antimicrobial stewardship, anticoagulation management, and protocol-driven care. You will precept residents and students, develop clinical protocols, and contribute to quality improvement and regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required.
• Current Ohio Pharmacy license required; board certification preferred.
• PGY1 residency or equivalent experience required; PGY2 preferred; 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with antimicrobial stewardship, anticoagulation management, and clinical protocol development.
• Strong communication and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily interdisciplinary rounds and provide evidence-based pharmacotherapy recommendations.
• Manage antimicrobial stewardship, anticoagulation, and critical care therapies.
• Initiate, modify, and monitor medications under collaborative practice agreements or protocols.
• Educate and mentor pharmacists, residents, and students; support quality improvement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain clinical protocols, order sets, and pharmacy-driven initiatives.
