Job summary

The Clinical Pharmacist II at Akron Children's Hospital is an advanced practice pharmacist responsible for evidence-based pharmacotherapy management for complex, high-acuity patient populations. Joining the Inpatient Burn & Burn Clinic, you will participate in daily rounds, collaborate with physicians, nurses and the care team, and lead pharmacotherapy interventions.

Qualifications

• Education: BS Pharm or PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Current Ohio State Board of Pharmacy license is required.
• Board certification in area of expertise is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily interdisciplinary rounds and provide pharmacotherapy recommendations.
• Promote cost-effective medication use through formulary management and stewardship initiatives.
• Independently manage complex therapies including antimicrobial stewardship and anticoagulation.
• Initiate, modify, and monitor therapy under collaborative practice agreements or protocols.
• Provide education to pharmacists, residents, students, physicians, and nurses.
• Develop and maintain clinical protocols, order sets, guidelines, and initiatives.
• Participate in quality improvement, formulary management, and medication-use evaluation.
• Precept residents and students and provide timely feedback on progress.
• Document interventions in the EMR and support regulatory readiness and strategic initiatives.
