Job summary

University of Arizona seeks a Research Technician III in Cellular and Molecular Medicine on a part-time basis. The role spans mammalian cell culture, DNA/RNA work, cloning, qPCR, Western blotting, and protein work, along with maintaining mouse colonies and lab management.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge in cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry, with the ability to troubleshoot and operate independently within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and Biochemistry techniques with minimal supervision including: mammalian cell culture, cell biological assays, DNA/RNA isolation, molecular cloning, qPCR, Western blotting, protein extraction and purification, immunofluorescence microscopy.
• Maintain mouse colonies including breeding and weaning, genotyping, harvesting tissues, and physiological assessments.
• Refine and adapt experimental designs, protocols, and SOPs with minimal supervisor guidance.
• Keep accurate records of experiments and data, and communicate results to the PI and lab staff.
• Order and catalog laboratory supplies and operate, maintain, and troubleshoot specialized equipment.
