Job summary

The incumbent will train staff, assist with scheduling, and may float to other labs. On-call and weekend shifts may be required; strong communication and IV placement skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program or equivalent experience.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS/RCS).
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within 6 months.
• Four years of relevant experience for principal level or equivalent.
• Ability to place IVs (training provided).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic recordings, measurements and calculations of echocardiography images and Doppler data.
• Contribute to work organization and scheduling as a self-directed team member.
• Participate in training of cardiac sonographers, students, residents and fellows.
• May review studies and direct junior personnel under the technical director.
