Job summary

UC San Diego Health seeks a highly skilled cardiac sonographer to perform advanced echocardiography, including 3D imaging and strain analysis. You will conduct diagnostic studies, calculate measurements, and occasionally administer ultrasound contrast agents to enhance imaging.

Ideal candidates hold RDCS certification, can place IVs, and communicate effectively with the team. Responsibilities include training staff and collaborating with the cardiology labs at Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program or equivalent.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS).
• BART or BLS at time of hire with plan to obtain BART within six months.
• Four years of relevant experience (for Principal level) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to place IVs (training provided).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform 3D echocardiography and strain imaging.
• Take diagnostic recordings and measurements of echo and Doppler data (rest and with stress).
• Administer ultrasound enhancement agents when indicated.
• Participate in training of cardiac sonographers, students, residents and fellows.
