Job summary

Springwoods Behavioral Health in Fayetteville, Arkansas seeks a Medical APRN for PRN contract coverage. The APRN oversees the quality of care, conducts medical assessments, diagnoses, medication management, and treatment planning with supervising physicians within approved protocols.

You will perform H&Ps, order labs, provide primary care across the life span, collaborate with physicians and care teams, explain procedures, and ensure accurate documentation of patient records.

Qualifications

• Valid license to practice and prescribe as Nurse Practitioner in Arkansas.
• At least 2 years of experience in a behavioral health/psychiatric practice; with adolescents preferred.
• Provide general medical care, assessments, evaluation and treatment of residents and consult with physicians, nursing, and other health professionals as needed to assure holistic approach and coordination of care and case management.
• Perform physical examination and/or preventive health measures within established guidelines to assess and evaluate resident's clinical problems and health care needs.
• Coordinate with the Medical Director to ensure high-quality medical services and provide competent medical physician back-up as required.
• Recommend, order, and prescribe treatments such as medication, therapy, and related procedures, and make referrals as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs medical history & H&Ps and medical consultations; orders and interprets labs and imaging; diagnoses and treats acute health problems.
• Provides direct clinical services for hospital medicine services according to established protocols.
• Assesses physical, emotional, and developmental status across the life span.
• Provides primary care based on assessments and clinical judgement to maintain or improve health.
• Coordinates with the Medical Director for high-caliber medical services.
• Explains procedures to patients/families; performs procedures; adjusts nursing care as needed.
• Teaches, counsels and allocates resources for patients and families.
• Maintains quality assurance through accurate documentation of patient records.
