Job summary

ALLETE, Inc. is seeking an Advanced Apprentice Lineworker in Eveleth, MN to install, remove and maintain electrical lines and fiber optic cables. The role requires coordinating with multiple departments, contractors and the public to ensure safe and reliable service.

This is a full-time position based in Minnesota with a strong emphasis on safety, service restoration and public safety. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and completed a technical college lineworker program or equivalent

• Coordinates line work activities with various departments, contractors and the general public.
• Restores electrical service by trouble shooting electrical lines and equipment.
• Minimizes outage duration by effectively diagnosing problems and planning/implementing restoration activities.
• During the normal work day, occasionally works without direct supervision.

Education

Experience

• Apprentice Level - Over one year of job related experience as a lineworker or candidate has completed a Technical College Lineworker training program. (3rd 6 months or higher)

Special Requirements

• This position will report regularly in person to Eveleth, MN.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and valid Medical Certificate.
• This position is subject to Federal DOT FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act) regulations.
• This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude
