Job summary

Minnesota Power, an ALLETE company, is an electric utility serving northeastern Minnesota from Duluth to Eveleth. This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in linework, safety, and customer service within a regulated utility environment.

The role requires a valid Class A CDL and willingness to work in varying field conditions, with a base hourly compensation in the mid-40s to low-50s range and opportunities for training and advancement.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Apprentice Level - Over one year of job related experience as a lineworker or candidate has completed a Technical College Lineworker training program.

Responsibilities

• Installs, removes and maintains electrical lines, equipment and fiber optic cable by efficient and safe operation of various pieces of heavy equipment and specialized tools.
• Coordinates line work activities with various departments, contractors and the public.
• Restores electrical service by trouble shooting electrical lines and equipment.
• Minimizes outage duration by diagnosing problems and planning/implementing restoration activities.
