Job summary

Geisinger in Scranton, PA is seeking a registered nurse to deliver patient care across the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will guide patient education and coordinate with the care team.

The role requires direct patient care, collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and a focus on safety and quality outcomes. Work hours include 7am–7:30pm, every other weekend and holiday, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania RN license and valid state requirements.
• BLS certification is required.
• Excellent patient care and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostics.
• Completes assessments according to scope of practice and unit standards.
• Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family.
• Plans and coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team including discharge planning.
• Evaluates interventions and revises care plan based on patient response.
• Collaborates with physicians and other staff to meet patient needs.
• Delegates and adjusts assignments according to patient acuity and team skills.
• Participates in quality and safety education programs.
