Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Cardiology Team!
Overview
The Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers high-quality cardiovascular care in collaboration with cardiologists and the multidisciplinary team. The role includes assessing, diagnosing, managing acute and chronic cardiac conditions, prescribing medications, educating patients, and participating in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives. The APP orders, interprets, and acts upon diagnostic studies (ECG, echocardiogram, stress test, cardiac imaging, labs), performs or assists with credentialed procedures (cardioversion, stress testing, device interrogation), and manages inpatient rounding, outpatient clinic visits, and care transitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Care: Conduct patient evaluation, diagnose and manage cardiovascular conditions, prescribe medications, and perform procedures within scope of practice. Demonstrate strong clinical decision-making, critical thinking, and effective communication in fast-paced environments.
- Patient Education & Counseling: Provide education on disease management, lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, and cardiovascular risk reduction to patients and families.
- Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care, communicate with referring providers and primary care teams, and document encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessment and manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions (e.g., coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, hypertension, valvular disease).
- Quality Improvement: Contribute to clinical protocols, quality initiatives, maintain current cardiology best practices, and adhere to institutional policies and professional standards.
Qualifications
- Degree – Certificate Nursing (NP) or Physician Assistant Studies
- Advanced Practice – Certified Registered Nurse First Assist
- MT State License – NP or PA
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS; must obtain ATLS and NBP within 6 months
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Two years or more of advance practice provider experience in a cardiology department caring for patients of all age spectrums and developmental levels.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, proficiency in interpreting cardiac diagnostics, excellent communication abilities.
