Job summary

Montana’s Comprehensive Cardiac Center at Billings Clinic is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Cardiovascular Surgery team on the Billings campus. Under physician supervision, you will provide general medical care to surgical patients and contribute to perioperative management.

Qualifications include graduates of accredited PA/NP programs, current NCCPA certification (or NP certification), Montana and/or Wyoming licensure, and applicable RN/advanced

• Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program.
• Current NCCPA Certification/License as Physician Assistant.
• Approved to practice as a physician assistant in Montana or Wyoming.
• Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program.
• Current Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Montana and/or Wyoming.
• License as an advanced practice nurse.
• Current Montana and/or Wyoming RN license as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Supports and models behaviors consistent with the mission and philosophy of Billings Clinic.
• Examines patients and performs comprehensive physical examinations and collects medical data.
• Orders or administers diagnostic tests and interprets results.
• Performs therapeutic procedures within licensure and supervision.
• Formulates diagnoses, develops care plans and documents progress.
• Confers with supervising physician to ensure continuity of care.

Education

Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program

Current NCCPA Certification/License as Physician Assistant

Approved to practice as a physician assistant in Montana or Wyoming

Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program

Current Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner

Under clinical supervision of a physician and direct supervision of the Manager/Director, the Physician Assistant provides general medical care, treatment and health care services to patients within the scope of their licensure and expertise level of the supervising physician.

Essential Job Functions

• Examines patients and performs comprehensive physical examination, compiles patient medical data including health history and results of physical examination.
• Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, laboratory, and other ancillary services as appropriate and differentiates between normal and abnormal information contained in the test results. (Patient Care, Testing Diagnostic Tests)

• Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program
• Current National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) Board Certification/License as Physician Assistant
• Approved to practice as a physician assistant in Montana or Wyoming by Board of Medical Examiners

Education for Nurse Practitioners

• Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program
• Current Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner
• Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner with a current Montana and/or Wyoming Board of Nursing
• License as an advance practice nurse
• Current Montana and/or Wyoming license as a Registered Nurse as appropriate to service area
