Qualifications

  • PA with ARC-PA-accredited master’s program; NCCPA certification on hire.
  • CNP with master’s degree; SD licensure required.
  • BLS, ATLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • 2+ years inpatient hospital experience for PA; 1 year CNP or 2 years RN in ICU/CCU preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct rounds, assess patients, and evaluate care plans.
  • Coordinate discharge planning with the medical team.
  • Administer medications and assist with procedures as ordered.

Location:Freeman, SDWorker Type:RegularWork Shift:Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays (United States of America)Freeman Regional Health Service is looking for individuals to join our growing, team-oriented organization.Position HighlightsJob SummaryThe Advance Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for conducting rounds on patients, performing assessments, coordinating and evaluating the plan of care, and implementing discharge plans at the direction and supervision of the Primary Physician within the scope of his/her practice permitted under South Dakota law. The APP also administers medications/treatments and assists with procedures as ordered by the physicians. The APP works collaboratively with the healthcare team to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care. While the PA is subject to practice under the protocols established and approved by the medical staff as required under South Dakota law, in all other respects the APP is subject to the Hospital’s authority.Work Shift:Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidaysRequired EducationCertified Physician Assistant - Graduate from a master's-level PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)Certified Nurse Practitioner - Master's degree required. Graduate of an accredited CNP program required.ExperienceCertified Physician Assistant - Minimum of 2 years of experience required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospital inpatient, cardiology, ICU or critical care preferred.Certified Nurse Practitioner - Minimum of 1 year CNP experience or minimum of 2 years of RN experience in hospital inpatient, cardiology, ICU or critical care required.Required Licensure/CertificationCertified Physician Assistant - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) upon hire.Federal Drug Enforcement Admin - US Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Admin State and federal based on state practice upon hire.Certified Physician Assistant - Licensing Board Must be licensed and qualified to practice in the state based on job assignment upon hire.Certified Nurse Practitioner - current licensure/ certification as a CNP by the South Dakota Board of Nursing required.Current BLS, ATLS and ACLS required.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
