  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current South Dakota licensure or eligibility for licensure.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and healthcare team members.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Provide preventive care, wellness visits, and routine physical examinations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Manage and monitor patients with chronic diseases.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic testing.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice.
  • Coordinate referrals and collaborate with specialists and community resources.
  • Educate patients and families regarding disease prevention and health management.
  • Assess, stabilize, and manage emergent patient conditions.
  • Participate in emergency department coverage, including triage, trauma assessment, stabilization, and coordination of transfers when higher levels of care are required.
  • Provide care to hospital and long-term care patients as needed.

Faulkton Area Medical Center (FAMC) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dedicated healthcare team. This is an exciting opportunity for a provider who enjoys a diverse practice and values building lasting relationships with patients in a rural community.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable caring for patients across the lifespan in a variety of settings, including the clinic, hospital, and emergency department. Preferred
  • Experience in a rural healthcare or Critical Access Hospital setting
  • Experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or acute care settings
  • Experience with patient triage, trauma assessment, stabilization, and transfer coordination
  • ACLS, BLS, ATLS, PALS certifications
  • One or more years of clinical practice experience
