Job summary

Freeman Regional Health Services is seeking an Advance Practice Provider (APP) to join the Freeman Regional Clinic in Freeman, SD. The APP will rotate through days/evenings/nights, perform rounds, assess patients, and coordinate and evaluate care plans under the supervision of the Primary Physician.

Qualified candidates include Certified Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or Certified Nurse Practitioners with appropriate state licensure.

Qualifications

• ARC-PA accredited master's PA program graduate.
• Master's degree required for NP pathway or RN with critical care experience.
• Current NCCPA certification and SD license eligibility.
• Current BLS, ATLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rounds, perform assessments, and coordinate plan of care.
• Implement discharge plans under supervising physician.
• Administer medications and assist procedures as ordered.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure safe delivery of care.

The APP also administers medications/treatments and assists with procedures as ordered by the physicians. The APP works collaboratively with the healthcare team to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care. While the PA is subject to practice under the protocols established and approved by the medical staff as required under South Dakota law, in all other respects the APP is subject to the Hospital’s authority.**Work Shift:**Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays**Required Education*** Certified Physician Assistant - Graduate from a master's-level PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)* Certified Nurse Practitioner - Master's degree required. Graduate of an accredited CNP program required.**Experience*** Certified Physician Assistant - Minimum of 2 years of experience required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospital inpatient, cardiology, ICU or critical care preferred.* Certified Nurse Practitioner - Minimum of 1 year CNP experience or minimum of 2 years of RN experience in hospital inpatient, cardiology, ICU or critical care required.**Required Licensure/Certification*** Certified Physician Assistant - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) upon hire.* Federal Drug Enforcement Admin - US Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Admin State and federal based on state practice upon hire.* Certified Physician Assistant - Licensing Board Must be licensed and qualified to practice in the state based on job assignment upon hire.* Certified Nurse Practitioner - current licensure/ certification as a CNP by the South Dakota Board of Nursing required.* Current BLS, ATLS and ACLS required.**Essential Qualifications** The individual must be able to work the hours specified.
