Job summary

Arapahoe County Government’s Department of Human Services seeks a CAPS Supervisor – Adult Protection to lead a team of professional social workers serving families and adults under state and federal guidelines. This is a hybrid position with three in-office days at Aurora or Littleton locations.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor’s in social work or related field; an MSW and years of supervision are preferred.

Qualifications

• Two-Generation approach knowledge and application.
• Ability to hire, supervise and evaluate professional casework staff.
• Advanced knowledge of adult protection casework and trauma-informed practices.
• Strong problem solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with CAPS, Colorado TRAILS and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversees staff scheduling and supervision to manage caseloads.
• Organizes unit workflow and program implementation.
• Determines resources and budgets for unit goals.
• Directs duties and provides guidance to staff.
• Instructs on rules, policies, and procedures; coaches staff.
• Sets standards and evaluates unit performance.
• Monitors quality and conducts staff reviews.
• Coordinates staff training and development.
• Manages disciplinary actions and performance appraisals.
• Demonstrates trauma-informed leadership and professional practice.
• Performs additional personnel functions as needed.
