Job summary

RSU 16 Adult Education seeks a flexible self-starter to facilitate individual and small group reading and English language lessons. The right candidate will differentiate instruction for students of varied ages and language levels, and collaborate with a team on literacy goals.

The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, confidentiality, and proficiency with internet, email, and Google/Microsoft apps. This is a 12–15 hour/week, non-certified position with CHRC required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic reading instructional strategies.
• Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) required.

RSU 16 Adult Education is looking for a flexible self-starter with the ability and initiative to facilitate individual and small group reading and English language lessons. The right person for our collaborative team is:

• willing and able to provide differentiated reading and language instruction

for students of different ages, backgrounds and language levels at various academic and English proficiency levels.

• adept at multi-tasking with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• sensitive and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
• computer proficient with internet, email and various Google or Microsoft applications, and willing to learn other platforms as appropriate for learners.

• willing and able to engage in professional development opportunities as necessary.

This position operates on a 12 to 15-hour per week schedule throughout the school year and over a 5-week summer session.

This is a non-certified position. Associate degree or at least 1 year of relevant experience with knowledge of basic reading instructional strategies and/or programs preferred.
