Job description

The client is seeking a full-time instructor to lead assigned adult education classes in language arts, social studies, science, and math, supporting students as they work toward the GED and other personal learning goals. The instructor will use the organization’s curriculum and support agency priorities, ensuring a high-quality learning experience through effective instruction and student support that advances learning and goal attainment.

Key responsibilities include teaching assigned classes at designated locations in-person and/or via remote instruction; providing support and referrals to address student barriers and transition needs; arranging for assessment and evaluation; and developing standards-aligned lesson plans and required instructional materials, including maintaining documentation in a centrally accessible system. The instructor will also support program improvement and compliance by participating in professional development and training, collecting and analyzing student performance and participation data, and monitoring progress to address issues related to state, federal, and grant requirements.

The instructor will collaborate with internal committees and teams and with external partners, follow agency protocols for effective service delivery, and provide local and regional leadership by sharing expertise. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field, with experience teaching adults preferred, along with strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving ability, flexibility, and alignment with The client’s core values. The role includes some evening work, use of a personal vehicle for local travel, and physical demands that may include prolonged computer work and lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 40 pounds.
