Job summary

Medix is seeking a Behavioral Support Specialist to provide day-to-day support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a structured day services program. You will help participants engage in activities, follow individualized goals, and deliver behavioral support as needed throughout the day.

Responsibilities include guiding participants through daily routines, reviewing goals, documenting progress, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification required or must be obtained prior to staffing ratio.
• CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification required or must be obtained prior to staffing ratio.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; high school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a structured day services program.
• Support participants in daily activities and review goals.
• Follow individualized behavior plans and use behavioral strategies.
• Assist with transportation and arrival/transition activities.
• Document participant progress and behavior data within required timelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming program environment.
• Rotate with the team to cover approximately 20–25 participants daily, with plans to grow.
