Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Full-Time Dayposition to provide direct patient care and unit clerical support. You will assist the care team, maintain a safe and clean environment, and help coordinate tests and admissions under RN supervision.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and BLS/Unit Secretary training. Prior acute care experience is preferred, with IU Health PCA program opportunities.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Basic life support certification required or obtained through IU Health PCA program.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures.
• Basic computer skills and ability to maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under a nurse direction.
• Perform unit clerical duties and support patient care team.
• Maintain clean, orderly patient environment and assist with admissions/discharges.
• Relay information to physicians, patients, families and vendors.
• Schedule tests, maintain patient records and sign patients in/out.
• Handle equipment and supply logistics for the unit.
• Observe patients, including suicide risk monitoring when required.
