Indiana University Health is hiring for a FT Night position that combines direct patient care with unit clerical duties. Under the guidance of a Clinical Nurse, you will support the patient care team, maintain a clean environment, and assist patients, families, and staff with information and directions.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, CPR certification (may be required), and potential completion of the IU Health PCA training program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification may be required.
• Completion of IU Health PCA education program or prior acute patient care experience.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to follow unit protocols and infection control standards.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and unit clerical duties under the direction of a Clinical Nurse.
• Support the patient care team and maintain a clean, orderly environment for patients.
• Offer information and directions to physicians, patients, families, customers, and vendors.
• May schedule tests and procedures and maintain patient records; sign patients in and out of the unit.
• May handle equipment and supplies ordering, receiving, and delivery for the patient care team.
• May provide continuous observation including suicide prevention as required.
