Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit in Wilmington, NC. The role runs on a 7 p.m.–7 a.m.

shift with a focus on compassionate, patient-centered care and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. You will perform comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, administer medications, and apply crisis intervention techniques to support patients experiencing behavioral health crises.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• RN licensure in appropriate state required.
• If RN license inactive for 5+ years with no licensure elsewhere in last 5 years, complete refresher before reinstatement.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to adults in behavioral health crises.
• Complete comprehensive patient assessments and create individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor progress.
• Use therapeutic communication and crisis intervention techniques.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers and the care team to promote positive outcomes.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
