Job summary

UCP Long Island is seeking full-time staff to support adults with developmental disabilities in a positive, high-energy day program in Hauppauge, NY. You will assist with daily living, encourage independence, and participate in community activities to help individuals thrive.

We offer competitive pay of $20.00–$22.00 per hour along with benefits including paid time off, health/dental insurance, life insurance, a pension plan, a 403(b), union benefits, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License required.
• Caregiving experience is a plus, but not required (training provided).
• Ability to assist with hands-on care, including lifting.
• Positive attitude, reliability and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily needs such as meals, mobility, and personal care while treating everyone with dignity and respect.
• Support fun activities, games, and community outings.
• Encourage independence and help individuals build confidence and life skills.
• Safely transport individuals using agency vehicles (including wheelchair lifts and tie-downs).
• Maintain simple, accurate documentation (daily notes, attendance, logs).
• Work as part of a team to create a positive, engaging environment.
