A-1 Universal Care in Plainview, NY seeks caring staff to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Community Programs (Day Habilitation, Respite and Community Habilitation). Nassau County and Western Suffolk County serve as locations; support promotes independence and social skills.

Positions include flexible evening and weekend hours; Day Habilitation runs Mon–Fri 8AM–4PM. A valid NYS driver’s license and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience assisting persons with IDD/Autism preferred.
• Excellent communication and written skills.
• Able to provide Direct Care assistance.
• Valid NYS Driver's License.
• Flexibility to work various hours throughout Nassau & Western Suffolk Counties.

Responsibilities

• Implement activities based on program's scheduled activities.
• Provide direct support to participants in daily activities such as self-care and community integration.
• Encourage social interactions and positive behavior.
• Work with individuals to promote health and safety in the community.
• Drive agency vans (Day Habilitation only) and demonstrate safe driving practices.
• Complete program documentation daily per state and agency guidelines.

Salary & Compensation: $18.25 - $18.25 per hour
